Gaby Ross Bio.

Gaby Ross was born in Dublin, Ireland, towards the end of World War Two. As the third eldest in a family of nine, she found little joy in formal education and left school after achieving an Honours Intermediate Certificate. Over the years, she ventured into a mix of interesting and rewarding jobs including being a nurse at the National Childrens Hospital in Dublin.

Her journey as a writer began when her youngest child started school. She bravely submitted a comedy script to RTE and was promptly summoned! Her debut into published writing started with a murder story, followed by a series of insightful articles on Marriage Counselling, Mediation, Annulment, and Separation, where she navigated personal challenges to help others facing similar struggles.

In 1990, amidst challenging separation negotiations, she penned her first children’s book, Damien the Dragon. This was followed by The King’s Story (1994) and McModo (1995), written during a Fas Course in Dunlaoire, with much of the text typed discreetly by her co-trainees. Princess Clara and the Social Worker (1995) and Red Alert at the Palace Hotel (1997) soon followed.

Currently residing in Co Dublin, Gaby has since completed several more delightful children’s books and two adult novels, poised for Kindle release. Beyond writing, her passions include gardening, DIY projects, 3D modelling, knitting, painting, crafting dolls’ cots, and more recently, quilting and pottery, discovered during the lockdown.
