Poolbeg
When the ex-king of Sandonia finds the lost treasure he has to turn his palace into a hotel to account for the extra loot. He is helped by his daughter, Princess Clara, Alan, the Gravellonian Dragon Minder, assorted workmen and the Department of Tourism, who insist on giving him even more money. He can’t even get away with hiding it.
A reception desk is constructed in the main hall, the banqueting hall becomes a function room, a car park is laid at the back of the palace, and a road is constructed to link up with the railway station.
Princess Clara and the king have to think of a name for the hotel and practice being polite to people.
They are hindered by the cat and hounded by a social worker who wants to put the princess into care. Although the king does learn to drive a car – mostly in reverse – this is not a horror story.
